Jasmine Ruano was born and raised in Los Angeles and received her Bachelor of Arts in International Development at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her background includes working with non-profit organizations in the San Gabriel Valley, directly working with people experiencing homelessness. She cares deeply about ensuring that marginalized communities have access to equal rights and opportunities. 

In addition to being passionate about social justice issues, she also understands the importance of social media in today’s world and how it can be used to bridge communication, and as a form of community building. As the Marketing and Communications Associate at VYLA, Jasmine manages the online presence of the organization, ensuring the youth and community view VYLA as a positive change agent.  

She loves iced coffee, her dog Canela, and traveling.
